pumpkins

ummmmmmm pumpkins are kind of expensive if you don't know what your doing. and we, definitely did not.  my momma and sister went to the pumpkin patch at peterson farms and got
10 pumpkins for $15... jeff and i got 3 for $19.
it was kind of way unfair and way dumb!
but that's ok. we {only me really} love halloween and are willing to pay the price!
we went to rosewood gardens on 3300 so. and oh my the people that work there are something else.
but they LOVE halloween! sometimes i wonder how places sell all their halloween stuff.?

and now our little home is ready for the trick or treaters... that hopefully don't come since we won't be home. but it still looks cute to all the people  who drive by and see it!

our little home + youknowyouloveit

the other day i was on the phone with a friend of mine, who also lives in the delmar. and she was telling me that she had just torn apart her bathroom and painted it. the toilet bowl and everything... she said "well, if i'm going to be here for a little while- i might as well enjoy it."

so i decided i wanted to enjoy my apartment too. and have had all these things i have wanted to hang but have never gotten around to it- well saturday was a work day for me. our apartment is spic and span! and the walls are definitely decorated. and i kind of felt super awesome.

we are all ready for back to school!
and like always youknowyouloveit
and they're pretty funny today.

-the brazilian man we ran into at lunch and then listened to him tell us 45 minute stories about his dogs. He brought his computer over and everything. And then crouched down to pet kira's dog hallie and we all noticed the very large hole in his crotch and his beautiful tighty whitties.

-tiger woods at the Stanford game being very close to us, and jeff decided to yell "trow me your hat!" yes. That is what he yelled to tiger woods. good one jeff.

-people in my ward don't recognize me unless I'm in church clothes.

-lonely island-jack sparrow and another one with akon.

-I walked into our bedroom and caught jeff red-handed kinda shoveling things he didn't know where they went under our bed...

-when I clean the apartment jeff says I hide his things. He says that since I cleaned I know where it us, and he doesn't.... The other day "it" was a slipper. So I told him to look in all the places we put shoes. And then guess where I found it.... Under the bed.

-as we were watching the kardashians, jeff asked me how long i thought they were going to be married, and i told him forever.

-i heard THE BEST STORY about my dad the other day. we were talking about our upcoming hawaii vacay with the family and whether or not we wanted to go to pearl harbor, and my dad was adamant about doing it. and i was so confused cause i was pretty sure my parents had already been. and then i discovered that the reason he wanted to do pearl harbor so bad was because the last time they did it, he got kicked out!     aparently as they take you on the boat you ARE NOT ALLOWED to use your cell phone. well my dad got a phone call that he thought he could sneak. but he couldn't. and was told by the guide that he had his warning and he couldn't get off the boat. so he couldn't. and i about DIED laughing. it is probably my most favorite story ever!

hello apartment.

so i came home before jeff to get our apartment ready so that we don't have to do that when school starts. it was so great to see my apartment after 4 months. i sent this picture to jeff which apparently made him "trunky." some missionary term for being homesick. i used to feel trunky at sleepovers when i was little and lucky for me, most of my friends lived in my neighborhood so i would just sneak out of their house in the middle of the night and run home. families are forever!

guys i had just gone running. don't question my wardrobe.

and then i took down all the boxes off the shelves and literally opened them and said "hello clothes. i have missed you." outloud. i am not lying. i even stopped and thought that it was weird i was talking to my clothes. and then i felt overwhelmed and went back to my parents leaving it like this...

and i made a "to-do" list. and it's apparently for real, cause who actually makes a to do list and actually does it? riddle me that.

so for the rest of the week i'll be busy apartment homemaking!

There's no place like home

This summer has been so much fun! It has been a great experience and we have been a lot of places we probably never would have otherwise. We learned how to be independent as a couple. Because we are out here solo (no friends or family) we have made new friends and learned how to make dull places or situations fun. I really think that you're awesome if you can survive two months hotel living in Wyoming. Therefore I think that we are awesome. Or if you can handle living in a Motel 6- you are also awesome. We are double awesome.

I have majorly gained a new appreciation for Jeff's hardwork. His summer work schedule is quite demanding of his time. It assures me that he is a definite "go-getter" and can accomplish long-term and short-term goals. Despite the long days we managed to wake up early and be productive... we have also became really good at staying up late.

Although the summer was very fun there are a few things that we are super excited to get back to in SLC...

-We do miss our apartment and the sweet homey feeling that we have created there. Of course we miss our families and how close we are to them, and the multiple weekly visits we make there- and all the free food they have to offer. And that we can make cookies or muddy buddies there because they ALWAYS have all the ingredients! Ooh and the Sunday dinners!

-I miss quenching my thirst at the Mav.

-Jeff misses driving his car. It's a strange materialistic relationship I've learn to overlook.

-We both miss family getaways. My cabin in Kamas, Lake Powell, and Jeff's house in Midway. But luckily we can get our fill when we get home!

-We miss good working toilets. It's not fun to ask for the plunger and have them say, "you can just keep it in your room." It's not us {me}, these toilets are SENSITIVE.

-And we really really miss our bed!

-ummm and DVR/tivo, it is so NOT convenient to have to watch your show when it starts. And I decided I hate commercials all over again. We have been spoiled people.

christmas at the monson's

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Here are some of our Christmas decorations!

our tree also has some new ornaments!
And yes our tree is small but we put it on a stool
...so you can hardly notice.

and how beautiful is this Santa? These are my Grandma's hand painted Santa mugs and I think we can all say that Mrs. Clause is a lucky girl- cause Santa is beautiful.

first home, first meal.

This is what we call HOME!

Darling cute green door!

and it even came with the welcome mat!

for slang we call it the Garden

Moving is NO FUN! we had to do so many loads, and we did get married in the middle of the summer, heat wave!

But for the first time ever, I am living somewhere other than my parents house. GO ME!
We have such sweet parents! when we came home we were stocked up on all our favorites! I guess we kind of have weird favorites...

stacy's chips

peanut butter taffy (mellows and peanut butter in the microwave stirred and mixed!) too bad we just barely got a microwave

Red velvet cupcake mix

chocolate milk and diet coke

string cheese

And they helped us put some of our things together... like Jeff's desk.

**parents rule!

The day after we got home from our honeymoon, we did not have very much food, however we did have muffin mix that only asks for water. So we enjoyed chocolate chip muffins! Makes the perfect amount for two. Sadly, we didn't buy groceries for a week so those muffin mixes served us well. Thanks Emily and Sara for that shower gift- It was delicious! We paired them with out favorites; chocolate milk and a DC.
