my best friend is getting married!

i know, we all say that our 'best friend' is getting married when any of our friends gets married.

but really, this is my best friend, and she is getting married.

before i get too far into my cruise, i have a birthday to mention...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY MOM!

i was sad to be away for her birthday {march 15} 

but having this be one of my first texts back was a treat!

my mom is the most selfless person i know. 

she is constantly on the go and doing things for others.

on the day we left for the cruise, i forgot the book i wanted to read, which was really my book, but my mom's book {i was going to sneak steal}. we all met at a friends house to pile in the car and head to cali. but i really really wanted my book. we were waiting on a couple more things so i decided to call her and figure out my book situation. of course she offered to bring it over. when she got there i realized i forgot my pillow. so we went and got my keys from my parents {i left them there in case anything happened and they needed to get into my apartment}. went to my apartment and got my pillow. after getting back with everyone. we realized we had a check we wanted to cash, because we didn't have any cash. only cards. out comes her wallet, and off she goes to cash our check! 

this is truly what my mother would do for anyone!

every time my mom goes to costco, 

she checks with me, my brothers and her neighbor to see if they need anything.

anytime i leave my wash at her house unattended, 

it somehow ends up washed, folded and/or ironed and waiting by the front door.

in the beginning of a new season 

i often come home to my apartment door festive with a new wreath and welcome mat. 

whenever i call her, she usually asks if i need anything. 

{i could take offense to this, seeing as she thinks i'm needy, but this is just who she is}

sometimes i get surprised with a diet coke.

i just love her so much! 

when we first got married, i sort of loved the overbearing, not letting go and somewhat intruding person she became. it's how i wanted things to be.

i have said this so many times, and i'll say it again. 

but the best compliment i've received is being told i am just like my mom.

apparently i forgot last year. whoops.

eliza is my bff, and has been for quite some time now.

she was my maid of honor and and before i got married, my better half.

not that jeff is better than her, {cause i'm actually better than both of them} but her and jeff are both my opposite and it's really like i have married my best friend in boy version. that's a compliment right? if not, i mean it to be.

2011

eliza is a real keeper. she has helped me with so many things.

we became friends many moons ago, and i won't go into details because the story does not do me well.

let's just say. it was kindergarten and i met a girl who had my same name and wore the same exact outfit as me... on the first day of school. why would i like her!? 

at one point i may have told her i hated her, and at another we were chomping on boogers. and good thing we got over that habit huh?

eventually having the same name benefitted us, every time we played games, we got to be together, cause it only made sense. we had the same name.

we have done a whole lot together.

she is smarter than me, and tells me when to NOT dye my hair {pink}

but i'm also there for her when she is trying to get out of soccer practice and i help her jump off the bed pointing her toes trying to break her foot somehow. we'd also call her soccer coach at the same time so that if he answered one, it was a mis-dial, and then eliza could leave a message about why she couldn't make it to soccer practice. 

she helps me explain things to jeff that make him look wrong.

when i want to buy weird things, she tells me no by telling me who else she could see wearing that.

all in all its a pretty solid friendship.

this one above might be my favorite. it sort of is sums us up.

our weekend

this weekend we went to a fiesta birthday party for a one year old! and now i am thinking about all the great and wonderful birthdays that baby one year old has to look forward to! so many! i enjoy my birthdays in the fact that get surprises! but i don't really like my age increasing. it is not as fun. but baby one year old has lots of great fun birthdays coming his way! jealous is what i am.

-my new iPhone game that i have learned about and that i LOVE LOVE LOVE! it is called 7 little words, and i cannot stop playing it. it is brain twistering me. get the game you fellow iPhoners, you will be pleased, and those of you that don't have an iPhone, get one. it's pretty coo.

-jeff and i have a little obsession right now with two things. 

1) houses. {which we are not looking to buy} we drive around and look at houses that are for sale and then choose a favorite.

2) dogs. {also not buying one anytime soon} we are constantly looking them up online. currently loving boxers and golden retrievers.

-i wish that every day were daylight savings. i got up an hour earlier than usual and wasn't even tired. it was pure bliss.

-papa johns pizza is the best. hands down. sorry ec.

-yesterday i blow-dryed my hair, which i haven't done in literally 5 months {i didn't even take a blowdryer with me this sum sum} and everyone commented on how my hair looked good different bla bla. which is great right- i love a good compliment, but what HAS it been looking like??? eek.

cabin weekend

this weekend we went to my family's cabin in oakley.

it was the perfect place to be for the conference weekend.

it was so oh so beautiful!

and we got to experience fall temperatures.

it was so great! we celebrated warner's birthday {i swear when you combine families you have birthdays erryday}, we hiked to the top the mountain below!, we ate delicious food, watched conf., had a movie night, played games {and i brutally lost, -1, -11, -25, etc... you want high numbers people}, and i gave myself a {much needed} mani/pedi.

jeff had such a great birthday!

we started the day by getting coupled massages. jeffy has wanted to get a before or after our big bike ride. and i told him no way, that i didn't really care. so then i tried to surprise him with a massage, but they called jeff to confirm his appointment the day before. oh well, next year. but anyways in a massage you are total nakey. and we were both in our nakey bed, and the therapists are just about to come in and jeff decides that being nakey is just too much and jumps our at decides to out on his basketball shorts. but i told him no, and made him get back in his nakey bed.

and then we went to lunch and blue lemon with some friends. YUM!

and had taco's with jeff's family and had friends over for cake and ice cream!

it was a great day! and we're planning to finish it off this weekend in midway!

Birthday Babe

today i get to brag about why my hot babe is better than yours.

1. he's a hot babe {yours may not be...sorry}

2. his value of what is important and what isn't {priorities}. he has all his priorities in the right place {me being numero uno {spanish for number one}}.

3. my hard-worker. and yes we all like money, but jeff is not just a quick money guy {sounds a little off since we did sell alarm systems} he is willing to work hard and put the hours in and seriously gets noticed by others he works with. he is constantly succeeding and progressing. and has so much dedication to whatever he sets his mind to. and he ACES interviews. never once not gotten the job.

4. his love and appreciation of family.

5. babe is so patient. those who know me know how patient he really must be... i'm not crazy or anything- but i get hyper often, refuse to let him fall asleep before me, i get anxious on travel drives, when i need a DC- i sort of NEED a DC, i sometimes have really strange and weird opinions, a lot of times i am stubborn just to be stubborn, etc... anyways he is always there for me and never gets annoyed. maybe he does... patients though right?

Happiest of Birthday wishes to my Mother-in-law, Vera Gene.

i seriously consider myself so lucky to have married into jeff's family

and vera is a huge reason why.

everyone knows that there are those mother-in-laws that people swear they are out to get them and i can tell you i assumed that no matter who i married i expected there to be head bumping-not the case for me. as i said i am super lucky. i absolutely adore vera with all my heart.

everyone LOVES this woman. all the women in my family who met her through our wedding loved her and thought she was such a "hoot" {literally quoting my grandma's words}. and she is.

i always have fun with vera, she is so funny. along with being funny she has always made me feel comfortable and important. she is always positive and willing to help anyone in any way she can. i know, as well as many others that i can count on vera to always help me out.

last day of birthday shopping

yesterday i went to anthro to use my little 15% off for my birthday month {see, i am not the ONLY one who celebrates a birthday for an entire month}. and i ended up getting these darling orange chords. ORANGE IS MY NEW and MOST FAVORITE COLOR! and honey came and really tested out the chairs. he doesn't really like shopping. so as i was trying on these orange pants, i kept calling them my naked pants. honey assured me that no one would do a double take thinking i am wearing no pants, but i just needed a second opinion. so i asked the "very stylish" male worker. and hopefully he was honest with me, cause i bought them. so if you see a girl on campus and you think she might not be wearing any pants, look again. it's me in my naked pants. i'll be turning heads everywhere.

Homebound for a min

We took a little detour HOME this past weekend... it was a fun little surprise since we didn't tell anyone. And of course we pull up to my house at 1 AM, trying to be sneaky and slip into bed without waking up my parents and out walks my Mom from the backyard. She was gardening. Of course she was. Jeff's family screamed when we saw them. I thought Sara was going to have her baby then and there. We're kind of a hit at home.

We had some friends come over, and Sam (my red headed friend) acted like she had never seen an iPhone and went a little steroid on the picture taking. I chose just a couple.

We were planning on staying for one day. Which stayed the same for honey, but turned into 4 days for me. But I got to stay for my nephews little birthday party!
How funny are those cups!?

I went on my first solo road trip! And it was pretty impressive. Apparently I'm entertaining enough. Most of the drive was on 2 way highways- so I got really good at passing. Which is kind of scary (I swear Jeff doesn't even do it).

The only tired that happened was my face. I told Jeff that my face muscles were soo tired from singing. I was belting all my tunes.
